What is Scam Detector ?
Scam Detector is a suite of products and tools that helps defend against
scams. The suite consists of the Scam Detector helpline (reachable at 1799),
Scam Detector app (for iPhone and Android), a website (www.scamshield.gov.sg)
with a range of anti-scam resources, and Scam Detector Alert Social Channels
on WhatsApp and Telegram.
Each of these plays a crucial role in empowering individuals to fight
against scams, as well as keeping the community safe from fraudulent activities.
Scam Detector app
The new and enhanced Scam Detector app now lets you check suspicious calls, websites, and messages (SMS, Telegram, and WhatsApp) to know if they’re scams. Together with improved blocking and filtering of scam calls and SMSes, the app offers better protection against scams for you and your loved ones.

One-stop portal on scams
Find up-to-date information on current scam trends, tips on how to safeguard yourself against scams and steps to take if you’ve fallen for a scam on www.scamshield.gov.sg. You can send scam-related queries directly to our helpline operators through the online chat to check if something is a scam.
Your privacy is our priority
We value and respect your privacy, and follow the strictest measures to
keep your information safe and confidential when you use Scam Detector products.
The App cannot read any SMSes you receive from contacts saved on your
phone. It only scans SMSes from unfamiliar numbers to look for any known
signs of scams.
When you submit a scam encounter via the Scam Detector app, the authorities
can only see the information you have submitted and not any personal information.
